Batavia Schools’ Tax Increase–Brace Yourself

As reported in Wednesday’s Kane County Chronicle, the Batavia School District passed its levy, at an increase of 4.9%.  Based on a home valued at $255,000, taxes will go up $464!

Meanwhile, in Friday’s Chronicle, the School District will receive $1.7 million from the expiration of the TIF District for the North Aurora Outlet Mall.  The School District will use that money for repairs and reserves, NOT FOR REBATES TO TAXPAYERS!
