School Board approves $7.2 million levy increase

Posted at Lower the Levy on Dec. 17, 2013:

Despite the many eloquent requests to lower the levy, the school board unanimously approved the $7.2 million tax increase.  There was no discussion among the board members of alternatives. Their minds had already been made up, as some had come with prepared speeches. This was not unexpected, given the Finance Committee meeting at noon the same day. There were no other plans presented. The Administration offered no other options for review.

There will never be enough money for the insatiable school district. The only way to stop the out-of-control spending is for fiscally responsible people to take over the school board. The next election for 3 seats (still not a majority on the 7 member board, but a good start), will be in 2015. Lower the Levy is seeking candidates.
